Eye Makeup Review Rimmel Lash Maxxx Mascara Kate Moss Feature

Eye Makeup Review: Rimmel Lash Maxxx Mascara

Eye Makeup Review Rimmel Lash Maxxx Mascara Kate MossAs my faithful readers know, I’m a huge fan of comb mascaras, and I was particularly impressed with Telescopic’s flexible plastic bristles. So Rimmel’s brush that combines the one-sided bristles of Lash Stylist’s comb and the flexibility of L’Oreal’s Telescopic seemed destined for success – plus, Kate Moss is in the ad! It has to be fabulous, right?

The packaging is adorable – both super feminine and high fashion at once. And the price is certainly right. But while the separating effect was great and my lashes still felt soft after two coats, this mascara didn’t give me the volume or length of other comb-brushed mascaras. The spiny plastic also felt a little creepy on my eyes, especially in trying to catch the tiny blonde lashes on the inner and outer edges of my lashes.

Skincare Review: Freeman Pineapple Facial Enzyme Mask

Skincare Review Freeman Pineapple Facial Enzyme Mask Model TowelSo by now you’ve all figured out that the Sassy Dove is not remotely rich. If she were, we’d probably be reviewing Creme de la Mer. But alas, my paltry wages have me resorting to drugstore products on the reg. So when I was at the dreaded Wal-Mart picking up yet another 20 lb. bag of cat food (I swear to God I don’t know where they put it all) and saw the Freeman Pineapple Facial Enzyme Mask, I was reminded of the advice I’ve gotten during spa facials.

I have combination skin and my pores clog up like a GoDaddy server after a DDoS attack, so facialists (or “estheticians”, if I paid a lot) are always recommending I use products with fruit enzymes and AHAs to break down the built-up sludge I’ve got in my pores. These ingredients for the price – how could I resist? The mask’s application time is a little long – 10 minutes, to be exact. I massaged it on as they recommended, and waited.

Hair Product Reviews: Shu Uemura White Tea Polishing Milk

Hair Product Reviews Shu Uemura Art of Hair White Tea Polishing Milk ModelThere are few greater joys in life for this beauty addict than the marriage of two of my greatest loves: Shu Uemura and heat styling. What more could a girl ask for?

Shu Uemura debuted the Art of Hair line this year, and included in the collection is the Satin Design White Tea Polishing Milk, a versatile leave-in meant to finish blow dried hair. Since I just got a brand new hair dryer, I was excited to try the product with a fresh blow drying.

Eye Makeup Review: Revlon Bedroom Eyes Powder Liner

Eye Makeup Review Revlon bedroom-eyes Powder Eyeliner AdSmoky eyes are a big hit right now, and everyone wants to know how to get the sexy effect without looking like you slept in your makeup. Enter this limited edition product from Revlon, one of my drugstore purchases this weekend. (See how much money I spend on helping you guys out? I’m so awesome.) All I could think about the whole time was: “You’re thinkin’ up your white lies, and puttin’ on your bedroom eyes”…ah, REO Speedwagon. You touch my life in so many ways.

I often ignore the directions, but the packaging gave a helpful tip: “Tap applicator to remove excess.”  Why do I never listen?

Makeup Review LOreal Telescopic Mascara Penelope Cruz

Makeup Review: L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

Makeup Review LOreal Telescopic Mascara Penelope CruzI love trying new mascaras, and it’s even better if I can get them at drugstore prices. The big trend these days seems to be changing the wand, and L’Oreal’s Telescopic has done just that with its innovative flexible brush with plastic bristles.

I tried Telescopic in Blackest Black (because really, who buys any other color?) and the wand seemed to grab any stray lashes and coat them beautifully.
