How to Straighten Your Hair Model Brunette

How to Straighten Your Hair: The Definitive Guide

How to Straighten Your Hair ModelTrends may come and go, but super-straight hair is always in. Celebs like Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lawrence are seen sporting the style all the time, so I thought it’d be helpful to share my definitive guide on getting stick-straight locks at home, no salon blowout or split ends required.

Chi Ceramic Flat IronStep 1: Get a professional grade flat iron. Things have come a long way since the Chi, but it’s still a powerful choice in this arena. Other heavy hitters include the Proliss, InStyler and Sedu (my personal favorite). Regardless of which you choose, a professional grade straightening iron is absolutely your best friend. I know they’re expensive, but you’ll use it constantly, and it can straighten even the kinkiest curls.

Hair Product Review: Matrix Color.smart Conditioner

Hair Product Review Matrix Color Smart Conditioner ModelMost of you ladies probably have colored hair, and likely have also had your once brilliant color fade or look different from when you left the salon. I’ve got bad news for you – there’s no way around that. It’s just going to happen. The good news is, companies like Matrix make great products like this. Makeup Review Maybelline instant-age-rewind-eraser foundation model-shot

Makeup Review: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Cream Foundation

Makeup Review Maybelline instant-age-rewind-eraser foundation model-shot Christy TurlingtonI first tried Maybelline’s Age Rewind foundation just after I’d turned 22 and was not remotely in need of age-defying makeup. Five years later (yes readers, do the math), even after they added the eraser and the swirl and all that jazz, I’m still in love with the Nude Light #4 as something with nice coverage at the drugstore. I’ve tried far too many filmy Covergirl foundations in the past, so I rarely pick up base at the drugstore, but this one is amazing!

This foundation’s coverage is full and it feels creamy and rich, but blends out neatly without feeling too thick. The bottle is ingenious – its pump tip is by far the best solution to the gloppy foundation rims and overspill of product onto our counters we’ve all experienced. The color is perfect for my skin and blends out every flaw, which is surprising considering I didn’t try it on before I bought it.

Revlon Molten Metal Feature

Eyeshadow Review: Revlon Molten Metal Liquid Shadow

Eyeshadow Review Revlon Molten Metal Liquid Shadow AdI love liquid shadows, especially anything sparkly. Is that predictable of me? Oh, well. Revlon debuted this product with their other Limited Edition shimmery lip toppings and shadows, so I picked up Molten Metal in Gold Digger #550. The tip is fabric and slides the shadow on comfortably but visibly. The product goes on smooth and dries neatly, and is easy to alter with a Q-tip and water so the edges are clean.

Revlon Molten Metal Liquid ShadowMy only complaint about this shadow is that the shade isn’t quite as intense as I thought the name “Molten Metal” suggested; I was hoping for a MAC-level deposit of extreme pigment. The result may be even better, though; I can wear it during the day to add some highlight to my look without feeling like a drag queen, and the shine factor is massive. And the name “Gold Digger” is at least undebatable; the color is nothing but gold with no hint of copper or bronze.

Review Jessica Simpson Dessert Treats Shampoo

Review: Jessica Simpson Dessert Treats Shampoo

Review Jessica Simpson Dessert Treats ShampooI, like many girls, am a bargain shopper. If it’s on clearance, there is at least a 50% higher chance that I will buy it. So when I strolled into Walgreens and saw this shampoo sitting on the shelf covered in red stickers, I said, “I have to have it! It’s 75% off!”

Sure, there were a few red flags. It said “conditioning” before shampoo, as if the creators were under the delusion that ANY shampoo was moisturizing enough to entirely replace the role of conditioner. Worse, it said “shampoo and body wash”. Any combination product is generally terrible at both jobs. But the shopper in me took over, forgot that if Jessica Simpson’s image isn’t enough to sell it, it’s bad, and took this little gem home.
