One of the most iconic makeup products is also one of my favorite components to my daily beauty routine: the MAC Paint Pot. The product can be used either for pigment, or for priming the eyelids before application of eyeshadow; I use it most often for the second instance, and it works wonders. I have mine in Painterly, a creamy nude beige color, but they are also available in a wide variety of other colors, both pearly and matte.
The paint pot intensifies the color of your shadows, making them vibrant and true. Green is really green; blue is really blue.
In today’s world, we girls stay busy around the clock. It’s no rare occasion that we’re asked to go straight from work or running errands to an evening on the town. But your wimpy daytime swipe of mascara isn’t going to suffice under some strobe light at Myst, is it? I don’t think so! Here are a couple of tips on quickly transitioning your daily au naturel makeup to a nighttime-appropriate look:
Ladies, have no fear! Hair extensions are some of the most exciting and fun beauty products to experiment with: using extensions, you can instantly transform your look and actually experience what a new hairstyle would be like in your usual day-to-day.
Traditional glue-in and weave types of extensions are difficult both to put in and take out (hello, physical damage), and it’s best to have a professional do either. The solution lies in clip-ins, which have improved immensely since their days as a Halloween party alternative to a bad wig.
Here’s a guide on how to put in clip-on extensions all by your resourceful little self (although help from a friend is very useful in this scenario – I recommend the one who helped you move or gives you rides to the airport, she’s already used to being exploited for her kindness):
I mentioned having problems with dullness in my hair recently, so I thought a post about some solution might be of use to any of my readers who despise those Pantene ads where Laetitia Casta’s hair looks like a big brunette ribbon of glossiness.
Unfortunately, I have to tell you that it’s your fault your hair looks like dishwater. Too much heat styling (of which I am also guilty) causes dullness due to the loss of moisture. So if you must blow dry every time you shampoo, or perhaps you’re in permanent love with your flat iron (this means you!) – lay off. It’s not helping!
Sassy Dove spends most of the year suggesting ways to make yourself more beautiful. Well, it’s our first Christmas as a website and that means we’re going to do something special: suggesting ways you can make your inside and the world around you more beautiful.
Making the world more beautiful is easier than you think. If you’re lacking the funds to give back this Christmas, you can still do good. Volunteer at a local homeless shelter, soup kitchen or food bank. Animal sanctuaries always need help. There are even ways to give back from your computer – creative websites, like FreeRice.com which lets you solve vocabulary questions to donate rice to the less fortunate or TabForaCause.org which lets you raise charity money by surfing the web, allow us to participate in the spirit of the season from home.
