Eye Makeup Review: Dior Diorshow Mascara

Eye Makeup Review Diorshow Mascara Natalie Portman

Eye Makeup Review Diorshow MascaraSo you’ll probably learn that as far as cosmetics go, I love Dior. (J’adore Dior! Heh.) And Diorshow Mascara is no exception. I use Black #090, and it is fantastic. It has a classic thick, lush brush, but is surprisingly soft to the touch. This mascara will give your lashes fullness like never before, and there are no clumps in sight.

Diorshow’s only flaw is that it doesn’t separate, so I prefer to use a comb mascara first and then topcoat with this. Your lashes will look longer and more voluptuous than they ever have. I’ve seen many mascaras claim to give the appearance of false lashes, but this one comes the closest I’ve seen yet, and it even seems to curl as well.

Beauty 101: How To Apply Fake Eyelashes

Beauty 101 How to Apply False Eyelashes barbara-palvin-long-lashesGot an upcoming wedding? A friend’s wedding? Anniversary, party, seminal night out on the town? Many of us ladies have problems trying to properly apply fake eyelashes for a big event. I am normally satisfied enough with my mascaras themselves and my ability to apply them, but for this a big event where I know photos will be snapped all day, some extra definition is in order. Even if you’re not doing anything special – what better time to glam it up than for no event at all, when you can relax and play with it?

Here’s how I go about applying falsies:

Step 1: Get some¬†great false lashes. Individual lashes are VERY hard to apply for beginners, so I use MAC 7 Lash ($11.00), which come in a strip. These are great for several reasons: they look natural because of the varying lengths and separation, and they are reusable unlike the drugstore ones, so they’re a bargain in the end. I also recommend MAC Duo Adhesive ($8.00) for your glue, as it dries clear and not gloopy like cheaper brands.

Makeup Review: Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss

Makeup Review Dior Addict Ultra GlossSpoiler alert: this is going to be a rave review. Ultra-Gloss is my favorite lip gloss of all time. Here’s how much I love this gloss: I paid $23 for it, was made to throw it out at the airport during the “liquid” scare by security Nazis fine upstanding IAH employees just doing their job, and went back to Macy’s as soon as I got home to buy it again.

I am a huge Dior fan. It’s not only the high-end designer appeal, but also the lush girlishness of it; while Chanel’s packaging is simple and elegant in black and white, Dior opts for colorful, embossed cases with shine, and the Addict line is no exception.
