It’s a topic we’re encouraged not to discuss: panties. What you wear outside is fair game for fashion blogs the world over, but there’s a reason what’s underneath that topic layer of clothing is referred to as your “unmentionables”. Well, here on Sassy Dove we like to break with convention and say screw taboo – let’s talk undies.
U by Kotex gets it – they know our lovely skivvies are constantly ruined by “that time of the month”, and they want to help with their #SaveTheUndies campaign.
Today we’ll be discussing the most rarely visible kind of fashion (but that’s okay, it’s the one you get to see, and you’re the most important audience). in Latin class we used to make a bad joke: “Semper ubi sub ubi”. It means, literally, “Always where under where”. (Get it?) But what panty type is best when?
Without further ado, here are my picks for the best kinds of panties for various occasions:
Panties For Workouts
Color doesn’t matter. The word here is seamless in the crotch. Having an unfortunately placed seam is devastating in an intense workout. I know, I’ve been there. Something without elastics in the leg holes is also best, to avoid constricting your blood flow. Continue reading “U By Kotex & Panties For Every Occasion” »
There’s a stigma associated with the beauty industry, and people look at it negatively sometimes – beauty as a career is considered superficial, and not necessarily thought of as a meaningful place to make your career. But I can tell you from personal experience, the beauty industry and those who work in it have impacted my life for as long as I can remember. These people are the beauty makers.
Like most women, my life has been filled with moments influenced by the beauty industry. It started as a child, when my grandmother, addicted to the goddess that is the Gift With Purchase, passed on countless makeup bags and the occasional lip gloss to me. I relished in these moments – my glimpses at my future womanhood.
As my devoted readers know, I am wholly into beauty from the inside out and taking vitamins for your hair, nails and skin. That’s why I was SO excited to hear about this product from NeoCell that’s getting tons of attention: their Keratin Hair Volumizer.
I like to write a positive blog for the most part. However, there comes a time when there must be The Airing of The Grievances. This is one of those times – the redheaded edition.
My head was born a blonde, but my heart has always been a redhead. I tried to deny it, I tried to fight it, but in the end I realized why my first instinct way back in high school was to go red – I had to embrace the redhead inside of me.
I thought the bonus to this move would be ditching all the dumb-blonde jokes and annoying come-ons. Little did I know, I was just trading one haircolor’s suite of witty repartee for another.
Those of you who know me well know that I am for some reason compelled to express myself ad nauseam. Lately, my mind is dominated by DIY projects, crafting and home decorating – and I’ve always loved making delicious and creative recipes.
For this reason and to do something productive with all that inspiration, we’ve added a new member to the Dove family of websites: MommyDove.com. Along with The Branded Blogger, that makes three sites I’m running at once – yikes!
Just because Mommy Dove isn’t about your face doesn’t mean it isn’t beautiful. To me, beauty is a focus both in the way I want to look and in my daily surroundings. Even you beauty girls will probably love the first DIY article, which outlines how I made over my hairband container and turned an old toothbrush holder into a makeup brush caddy.
Of course, I’ll continue to bring you fantabulous beauty content here at Sassy Dove, but if you’re into crafting, recipes, do-it-yourself home makeover projects, and fun family life, Mommy Dove might have a lot to offer you too. Check it out and support us by liking Mommy Dove’s Facebook page! Looking forward to the journey with you ladies.
