I love my red locks, but IÂ was looking for more of that shiny hair-commercial look on a daily basis. Along came Nexxus’ new Oil Infinite line, and I was lucky enough to get a chance to review it myself in a video we filmed for Nexxus at Walmart. Boom!
Dullness is my biggest hair problem these days, so I was stoked when my Paul Mitchell Insiders package this month included the MirrorSmooth line. Shine bright like a diamond, y’all!
So there’s science and stuff behind this whole thing – the big Mitch’s exclusive KeraReflect blend features natural Abyssinian oil for brilliant shine, awapuhi extract for optimal moisture, strengthening keratin protein and thermal protectors for heat-stylin’ addicts like myself. #icantquityou Continue reading “Shine Bright Like a Diamond: Paul Mitchell MirrorSmooth Review #PMInsiders” »
Do you have any very favorite songs that no one but you has ever heard? One of mine is called “Beautifully Undone”, and I’m not the least bit ashamed to say that I got it from the Degrassi: The Next Generation soundtrack:
That snazzy little melody wouldn’t stop playing in my head as I experimented with TRESemmé’s new Perfectly (Un)Done line, which works with the current wavy trend that’s sweeping the hair-iverse. Which begs the question: what’s your wave style? Continue reading “Making (Beachy) Waves with TRESemmé Perfectly (Un)Done” »
Living in the desert is totally different than it was living in Houston. While moisturizing was optional and sometimes disastrous in humid southeast Texas, it’s a must in Phoenix. Both my skin and hair have completely changed from dripping-oily to bone dry since I moved. What’s a girl to do?
Luckily, I just so happen to be well versed in the world of hair care, and I know that argan oil and keratin are two essential ingredients for keeping hair strong and ends moisturized. When I heard about Hask’s Argan Oil and Keratin Protein lines, I was stoked to try them out on my limp ends!
While I adore a good bargain in cosmetic products, I have to admit that I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to haircare. Consequently, I tend to turn up my nose at any shampoo or conditioner available at the drugstore. (If I don’t have to at least go to Trade Secret, it’s not good enough!) But I’ve enjoyed L’Oreal’s makeup and haircolor lines, so I thought I’d give their Vive Pro Color Vive line the chance to impress me.
Color Vive offers formulas for normal, damaged and highlighted hair; since I’m an ex-blonde with red color on top and a tendency toward strawlike Scarecrow strands, I opted for “damaged”. The shampoo’s scent is clean, light and reminds me of the smell hair salon shampoos have – not a bad sign! You don’t need much shampoo and the lather isn’t a gargantuan bubbly mess, so it rinses well even when followed with Color Vive Conditioner.
