L’Oreal HIP Rich Cream Eyeliner Review

Loreal HIP Eyeliner ReviewRecently I decided to give L’Oreal’s HIP Cream Eyeliner a try. Combine the cute curious little cream-liner pot with the “Buy one, get one free” sign flashing before my eyes, and it’s a done deal.

At first, I was kind of hesitant when I saw the slant tip applicator brush it came with. I am a liquid liner devotee, and cream is still fairly new to me. I was in total shock at how easily it just glided on, and in a perfect line! Not only that, but the color (Black 905) was bold (guess that’s why they call it High Intensity Pigments) and didn’t smudge at all!

How To Apply Mod Makeup Twiggy Lawson Feature

How To Apply Mod Makeup

How To Apply Mod Makeup Twiggy LawsonThe “mod” style of makeup is named as such because it’s an abbreviation for “modern” – ironic now that mod makeup is considered retro. Dated or no, mod has found its way into many high end fashion designer’s collections on the runway and is very applicable for a high-drama look today. Here’s a couple tips on getting the look Twiggy made famous without coming out a big pile of black eyeliner:

Step 1: The Eyelashes

Apply your favorite “omg my eyelashes are HUGE” mascara (I use the old Telescopic + Diorshow trick), let it dry, and make with the fake lashes. MAC has a lovely set of strip lashes, and individuals are cheap at the drugstore. I have a guide on making falsies happen, too.

Eye Makeup Review: L’Oreal Telescopic Eyeliner

L'Oreal Telescopic Liquid EyelinerEye Makeup Review LOreal Telescopic Eyeliner Aishwarya RaiSince I loved L’Oreal’s Telescopic mascara so much, I decided to review the accompanying liner. I wear eyeliner nearly every day, and I love the consistency of this product. (I use Black #810.) The tip is a stiff felt tip rather than a brush, which I usually don’t like, but the flow is thick, luscious black that dries matte.

This eyeliner takes some finesse to apply (as most liquid liners do), so I wouldn’t recommend this liner for beginners. As well, it doesn’t dry very quickly, so take care to not blink or apply mascara before it’s set.

Beauty 101: How To Apply Fake Eyelashes

Beauty 101 How to Apply False Eyelashes barbara-palvin-long-lashesGot an upcoming wedding? A friend’s wedding? Anniversary, party, seminal night out on the town? Many of us ladies have problems trying to properly apply fake eyelashes for a big event. I am normally satisfied enough with my mascaras themselves and my ability to apply them, but for this a big event where I know photos will be snapped all day, some extra definition is in order. Even if you’re not doing anything special – what better time to glam it up than for no event at all, when you can relax and play with it?

Here’s how I go about applying falsies:

Step 1: Get some great false lashes. Individual lashes are VERY hard to apply for beginners, so I use MAC 7 Lash ($11.00), which come in a strip. These are great for several reasons: they look natural because of the varying lengths and separation, and they are reusable unlike the drugstore ones, so they’re a bargain in the end. I also recommend MAC Duo Adhesive ($8.00) for your glue, as it dries clear and not gloopy like cheaper brands.
