Pur-Minerals-Cameo-Contour-Dual-Ended-Contour-StickContouringEasier

Meet Your New Makeup Contouring Best Friend.

Sometimes, my makeup game falls into a rut. I start using the same stuff every day, never really loving the finished look the way I once did, and feeling uninspired.

Luckily, somehow makeup inspiration psychically knows when it’s time to strike. It’s arrived in the form of Pur Minerals’ Cameo Contour. It literally just showed up on my doorstep like an early Christmas present (in case you weren’t sure yet whether or not you were jealous of my job… nyah nyah).  Continue reading “Meet Your New Makeup Contouring Best Friend.” »

#Wantable January 2015 Makeup Collection [VIDEO]

Things I love: makeup, a nice RosĂ©, and surprises. Well, two outta three ain’t bad, and that’s what the good folks at Wantable sent me in the mail this week. I picked up the mail on the run so I had to do a quick-and-dirty opening in the car, but here’s a jazzier showcase of me sampling all my goodies: Continue reading “#Wantable January 2015 Makeup Collection [VIDEO]” »

mac studio fix fluid

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Review

Shortly after I ran out of RawMinerals foundation, I began using MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid, which caught my eye because of the full coverage and SPF 15 it offers. I had heard from a friend that it worked great, and her skin always looked perfect.

Makeup Reviews: Bobbi Brown Mauve Face Palette

Bobbi Brown Mauve Collection Face lookEveryone loves a good makeup palette, especially when it’s from Bobbi Brown. Bobbi’s Mauve Collection is a limited edition line with refreshingly neutral colors; when it seems every cosmetics company is debuting intense pigments, it’s nice to get quality colors that are still wearable.

The Mauve Collection’s palette is a black, sleek, modern affair with a blush, 3 eyeshadows and 3 lip colors. The blush, called – surprise – Mauve, is a dusty rose and was surprisingly flattering to my warm skin tone. An interesting tidbit: the Mauve Collection was inspired by Ali McGraw’s look in the classic film Love Story.

Makeup Reviews: Pur Minerals Pressed Powder Foundation

It seems there’s a new mineral makeup foundation on the shelves every day, but Pur Minerals was among the first to the craze along with their Bare colleagues. I’m a bit behind the times in just now reviewing my first Pur Minerals products, but I have to say, it was well worth the wait!

Unlike a lot of mineral makeup foundations, Pur Minerals didn’t leave my face overly shiny. Because the powder is pressed, it’s also much cleaner than the loose powder forms mineral makeup often takes. The foundation gives beautiful coverage without the cakiness I expected from the pressed format. The buffing brush (called by Pur Minerals a “chisel brush“) is one of the best performing of its kind, too – the foundation didn’t rub off as I swirled it on, nor were the bristles the least bit prickly.
