Revlon ColorStay Mineral Eyeshadow Review

Revlon ColorStay Mineral Eyeshadow ReviewMineral makeup strikes again! I picked up Revlon’s ColorStay Mineral Eye Shadow in Sunlit Jade, which has shimmery creme, bronze and olive colors. Revlon’s ColorStay 12 Hour shadow is very popular and long-wearing, so I was hopeful about the talc-free version.

Most of the ColorStay eyeshadow shades are so neutral that they’d work for most any skin tone, but I really wish they’d offered more of the cah-razy colors this Dove loves to wear. But very few ladies are as flamboyant as I am!

This eyeshadow’s texture is fab – it’s ultra smooth and silky feeling. The shadow colors blend really well with each other, and I was able to smooth out most of the harsher olive color without redoing my makeup (yay!).

Haircolor Review: Revlon Colorist Expert Color and Glaze

Revlon Colorist RedheadWhy do I constantly switch haircolor products? I was perfectly happy with the color I got from Perfect 10. Well, I know why – because I’m obsessed with trying new things and reviewing them for you, that’s why. Revlon Colorist was one flavor I sampled in my blondie days, and here’s the rundown:

Back when I was channeling Marilyn I tried a lot of blonde hair colors, and they’re all pretty torturous on the senses. This one was no exception. It itched my scalp and the smell was all burny in my nose. No bueno. The color (#100, Extra Light Natural Blonde) came out pretty though: light but natural-looking, and blended well with my already Pam Anderson-colored ends. (I wasn’t a bimbo, so stop thinkin’ it. Seriously. I’ll cut you.)

Lip Makeup Review: Revlon Sugar Sugar Lip Topping

Lip Makeup Review Revlon Sugar Sugar Lip ToppingDo you ever think some advertisements should be illegal? I don’t think it’s very fair that I walk into the mall and see a glistening, svelte Heidi Klum half-naked next to a bra on sale. It’s misleading, since I definitely won’t look like Heidi Klum after squeezing myself into some clearance lingerie.

I felt the same way at the drugstore looking at the photo next to Revlon’s Limited Edition Sugar Sugar Lip Topping. These Laetitia Casta-like lips stared back at me, frosted and shimmering with a delightful light pink, and I had the cogent thought: “That is absolutely not what this will look like.” Still, 50% off lured me in (another clue it’s probably not that great) and I grabbed this in both Snowflake (white) and Pixie Plum (pink).

Revlon Molten Metal Feature

Eyeshadow Review: Revlon Molten Metal Liquid Shadow

Eyeshadow Review Revlon Molten Metal Liquid Shadow AdI love liquid shadows, especially anything sparkly. Is that predictable of me? Oh, well. Revlon debuted this product with their other Limited Edition shimmery lip toppings and shadows, so I picked up Molten Metal in Gold Digger #550. The tip is fabric and slides the shadow on comfortably but visibly. The product goes on smooth and dries neatly, and is easy to alter with a Q-tip and water so the edges are clean.

Revlon Molten Metal Liquid ShadowMy only complaint about this shadow is that the shade isn’t quite as intense as I thought the name “Molten Metal” suggested; I was hoping for a MAC-level┬ádeposit of extreme pigment. The result may be even better, though; I can wear it during the day to add some highlight to my look without feeling like a drag queen, and the shine factor is massive. And the name “Gold Digger” is at least undebatable; the color is nothing but gold with no hint of copper or bronze.
