6 Fab Uses For Tea Tree Oil

There are some homeopathic beauty remedies out there that are, frankly, hooey. Tea tree oil is not one of them.  Don’t believe me? Let’s hear the science!

According to the International Journal of Dermatology, a peer-reviewed medical journal that’s my super-scientific source:

Terpinen-4-ol is a major component of tea tree oil which exhibits strong antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea tree oil exerts antioxidant activity and has been reported to have broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacterial, viral, fungal, and protozoal infections. Several studies have suggested the uses of tea tree oil for the treatment of acne, seborrheic dermatitis, and even chronic gingivitis. (But please don’t drink it – tea tree oil is toxic if taken orally!)

It also accelerates the wound healing process and exhibits anti-skin cancer activity. So why aren’t you using it already? Get with the program. Sheesh.

Tea tree oil comes from a plant in Australia, so your best bet for the purest kind is 100% Australian tea tree oil like the one from Apothecary Extracts.  Here’s Fab Way #1 to use tea tree oil – as an exfoliator!

Fab Use #1: Tea Tree Oil Exfoliator

1 cup pure coconut butter
10 drops Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil
1/2 cup whole raw almonds
MIX IT: Place almonds in a food processor and pulse 5-8 times, until there are tiny pieces remaining but not so much that you have a fine powder. Add almonds to coconut butter and tea tree oil until blended.
APPLY IT: Rub scrub into face and body in a circular motion. Rinse off with warm water and pat skin dry.
