Hello dolls! I got the opportunity to try a FAB new product from skincare giant Dermalogica: their Skin Hydrating Booster. Spoiler alert: my skin is LOVING it!
The Skin Hydrating Booster is a super hydrating fluid that intensely moisturizes thirsty skin as it smooths and minimizes fine lines. As you may know, I’m obsessed with skincare science. This water-based, non-greasy formula contains hyaluronic acid, which holds one thousand times its weight in water for powerful hydration. If you haven’t tried hyaluronic acid, you really should. I even take oral supplements of it daily. Kind of like collagen, it helps the skin hold its links together smoothly – and also like collagen, it degrades as you age. So adding some back in CAN’T hurt!
If you’re looking for anti-aging products, listen up. L’Oreal’s Skin Genesis line makes use of the company’s own patented ingredient, Pro-Xylane, which aims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by boosting the production of glycoaminoglycans within the skin. And if you’re not into the science of things – the Skin Genesis serum won Allure Magazine’s Best of Beauty Awards for Best Breakthrough in Skin Care, so you know it’s got something special. Plus, it’s got a 7/10 average on Total Beauty!
The lightly scented Skin Genesis serum is on the watery side, but applies smoothly and soaks into skin with ease. A little serum goes a long way – don’t overapply or you’ll be cleaning up with a washcloth.
#TheSkinProject has led me to another interesting topic: skin serums. Serums are an interesting addition to the skincare arsenal: packed with active ingredients and eliminating moisture-retaining fillers like petrolatum, they are a great resource for doing some heavy lifting in skin repair. Serums’ super-slim texture helps them sink into the skin quickly and get to work! Continue reading “#TheSkinProject Facial Serum & Using Serum For Your Skin” »
