I adore facial masks, and I also love any product that helps with blemishes. PCA Skin has combined the two with their new pHaze 9 Purifying Mask, a nifty product that uses red algae and French red clay. Here are the mask’s key ingredients: Continue reading PCA Skin pHaze 9 Purifying Mask Review

Too Faced Lash Injection Pin Point Review
Despite all the hype, I didn’t love the original Too Faced Lash Injection mascara the way the rest of the world seemed to. My biggest problem with it was the same issue many other ladies had: the brush was massive! Seriously, I could comb my hair with it. So when Too Faced introduced Lash Injection Pin Point with all the lash-tubing goodness of the original with a more reasonably sized brush, I was instantly interested.
Pin Point uses the same formula as the original Lash Injection, but the new brush is a skinny version that definitely defines and separates lashes better. It’s much easier to cover the base of your lashline without stabbing yourself in the eye, and this version found my wussiest lashes with ease.
Makeup Reviews: Bobbi Brown Metallic Eye Shadows
Those of you who read Sassy Dove often know that I love intense, wild eyeshadow colors, so I was excited to try Bobbi Brown’s metallic eyeshadows collection. Voted Best Eye Shadow by Self Magazine, the line includes a large range of colors that piqued my artsy interest.
I was pleased by the many shade choices which ran the gamut from pale pink and lavender to dark brown and navy. Bobbi’s line is more shimmery and pearly than glittery, making it easy to avoid the drag queen effect that often accompanies more luminous makeup. However, the muted sparkle makes the darker shades look less metallic than the lighter ones. My favorites from this line: Champagne Quartz, Pink Pearl, Sage and Velvet Plum.

L’Oreal Vive Pro Color Shampoo and Conditioner Review
While I adore a good bargain in cosmetic products, I have to admit that I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to haircare. Consequently, I tend to turn up my nose at any shampoo or conditioner available at the drugstore. (If I don’t have to at least go to Trade Secret, it’s not good enough!) But I’ve enjoyed L’Oreal’s makeup and haircolor lines, so I thought I’d give their Vive Pro Color Vive line the chance to impress me.
Color Vive offers formulas for normal, damaged and highlighted hair; since I’m an ex-blonde with red color on top and a tendency toward strawlike Scarecrow strands, I opted for “damaged”. The shampoo’s scent is clean, light and reminds me of the smell hair salon shampoos have – not a bad sign! You don’t need much shampoo and the lather isn’t a gargantuan bubbly mess, so it rinses well even when followed with Color Vive Conditioner.
