Fab Gift Ideas for Your BFF

Your BFF is killer. She is always available to faux-call you an emergency when you need to escape an awkward social interaction. She’s helped you with your last 3 moves and she somehow knows which ex-boyfriends not to irreparably insult so you can get back together later while maintaining dignity.

Let’s face it: she deserves a better gift than that tired don’t-we-all-love-wine greeting card stuffed with yet another low-effort department store gift certificate. Whether it’s Christmas, her birthday or your bestieversary (yes, that’s a thing), let’s get creative and give her something she’ll really love this time around (and not just fake-squee at).

The Gifts for Her section on Best Buy’s Gift Ideas page has some amazing inspiration (plus, you can shop by price point – totes necessary for beauties on a budget). Here are my faves: Continue reading Fab Gift Ideas for Your BFF

Sexy Sleek Hairstyle + Rose Gold Styling Tools #PMBigNightOut

Paul Mitchell Rose Gold Smoothing Iron Sculpting Brush Review You're GoldenI have a mild obsession with rose gold, fruity girl drinks, and beauty products. (Girls who are with me, say hey-oh!)

So when I (being a #PMInsider and all) got the Paul Mitchell limited edition You’re Golden Express Ion Smooth+ rose gold smoothing iron and sculpting brush, my face basically did this:

Technically, this product came out as part of Paul Mitchell’s Big Night Out, but my very first thought was that it would help me create the perfect hairstyle for my big night in: my girls-only #SassyGlam House Party. (Spoiler: it was every bit as epic as I imagined it, evidenced by a regrettable Vine). Continue reading Sexy Sleek Hairstyle + Rose Gold Styling Tools #PMBigNightOut

Corioliss Pink Flat Iron Review – Or, A “Dear CHI” Letter

Dear CHI,

We’ve been together for such a long time, and through the years, I’ve been completely loyal to you. CHI Silk Infusion Review

chi silk infusionThough I try to avoid heat styling, I do adore my CHI flat iron, and my friends have been raving to me about Farouk’s hit companion goodie CHI Silk Infusion since I can remember. In fact, this product’s been such a sensation, I’m rather embarrassed to just now be jumping on the bandwagon. Late to the game is better than never showing up at all, right?

Silk Infusion is the perfect name for this leave-in. I only use a tiny amount, but my color-fried locks feel amazingly soft. With my thick hair, I often have problems with leave-ins being too gunky and weighty – but not this baby! Silk Infusion glides in without adding a hint of buildup.

Chi Silk Infusion can go on dry hair, but I also like to style by applying it while my hair’s still wet and blow-drying it in.

The verdict: 10/10! Believe the hype.

CHI Silk Infusion sells for $8.95 in the 2oz. size at Amazon.

How to Straighten Your Hair: The Definitive Guide

How to Straighten Your Hair ModelTrends may come and go, but super-straight hair is always in. Celebs like Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lawrence are seen sporting the style all the time, so I thought it’d be helpful to share my definitive guide on getting stick-straight locks at home, no salon blowout or split ends required.

Chi Ceramic Flat IronStep 1: Get a professional grade flat iron. Things have come a long way since the Chi, but it’s still a powerful choice in this arena. Other heavy hitters include the Proliss, InStyler and Sedu (my personal favorite). Regardless of which you choose, a professional grade straightening iron is absolutely your best friend. I know they’re expensive, but you’ll use it constantly, and it can straighten even the kinkiest curls.
