Summer in Phoenix is tough. Through the spring, my skin looked great, but since the summer’s come round it’s looking sallow, porous, and desperate for love seemingly no matter how much I moisturize.
I needed a boost, but what could I do? After all, let’s be real: I’ve tried every product under the sun. I tried this hyaluronic acid without much thought; with everything I’ve already done to my face, how much difference could this really make? I know what you’re thinking: “Serum? Where’s the eyedropper and the little brown bottle? Isn’t this just a moisturizer?” But Amarte Aqua Veil Pure Hydration Serum isn’t your everyday skincare product. Continue reading Amarte Aqua Veil Pure Hydration Serum Review →
Hello dolls! I got the opportunity to try a FAB new product from skincare giant Dermalogica: their Skin Hydrating Booster. Spoiler alert: my skin is LOVING it!
The Skin Hydrating Booster is a super hydrating fluid that intensely moisturizes thirsty skin as it smooths and minimizes fine lines. As you may know, I’m obsessed with skincare science. This water-based, non-greasy formula contains hyaluronic acid, which holds one thousand times its weight in water for powerful hydration. If you haven’t tried hyaluronic acid, you really should. If you’re looking for anti-aging products, listen up. L’Oreal’s Skin Genesis line makes use of the company’s own patented ingredient, Pro-Xylane, which aims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by boosting the production of glycoaminoglycans within the skin. And if you’re not into the science of things – the Skin Genesis serum won Allure Magazine’s Best of Beauty Awards for Best Breakthrough in Skin Care, so you know it’s got something special. Plus, it’s got a 7/10 average on Total Beauty!
The lightly scented Skin Genesis serum is on the watery side, but applies smoothly and soaks into skin with ease. A little serum goes a long way – don’t overapply or you’ll be cleaning up with a washcloth.

#TheSkinProject has led me to another interesting topic: skin serums. Serums are an interesting addition to the skincare arsenal: packed with active ingredients and eliminating moisture-retaining fillers like petrolatum, they are a great resource for doing some heavy lifting in skin repair. Serums’ super-slim texture helps them sink into the skin quickly and get to work!
