How To Throw An Unforgettable Bridal Shower

Planning a bridal shower can be stressful. Many people say that the bride should plan her shower, but I disagree. Yes, you want it to be personal and special for your friend, but if she’s busy planning her wedding and doesn’t have time to attend every bridal shower in town then let your friends help out! I’m going over some tips on throwing an unforgettable bridal shower. Here are some of my favourite memories from my showers:

Find out what the bride wants

First and foremost, it’s important to find out what the bride wants. If you are planning to get in one of that maid of honor dresses, you can’t mess up this party. If she doesn’t have a specific color scheme or theme in mind, you may want to check with her best friends or bridesmaids to see if they have any ideas that they’d like incorporated into the shower. It’s always better to ask than assume!

Only invite people you know the bride likes

Your bridal shower is a celebration of the bride, but it should be fun for everyone involved. If you invite people who aren’t friends with the bride, or who are not part of her family, then those guests will likely not have much in common with the other guests. They’ll be standing off to the side awkwardly during most activities and could even hurt the overall mood if they don’t know how to handle themselves in social situations.

Don’t make it all about the gifts

When you’re having a bridal shower, it’s easy to get caught up in all the gifts and flowers, but don’t let them distract you from what’s important: The bride. If you have a bridal shower, your job as a bridesmaid is not just to plan the party, but also to make sure that everything runs smoothly and everyone has fun. Above all else, keep in mind that this party should be about celebrating your friend’s happiness!

If there are any rules about “gift etiquette,” they should focus on limiting the money each giver spends—not whether or not she gives at all. After all, no matter how much money people spend on their presents), nothing says “I love my friend” more than putting together an unforgettable event. If someone can’t afford anything for their gift list (or doesn’t want to go overboard), that’s fine too! You can always give her something special later when life settles down again after the wedding day madness passes by.

Ask a few guests to assist you

The first thing to do is ask a few guests to assist you. These volunteers should be people who are good at planning, cooking, decorating and entertaining. They should also be able to clean up afterwards. Once you’ve chosen these helpers it’s time to move on to step two: planning the menu!

Activities aren’t required, but they can be fun

Activities are a great way to break up the day and keep guests engaged. You can choose activities that are educational, competitive, relaxing or silly. As long as it’s something everyone will enjoy—and you have the time for it!

Decorate, but don’t go overboard

Don’t go overboard with decorations. You can do something simple and charming like hang up some paper lanterns or put up some streamers. The most important thing is to ensure you have enough space for the food—if there is nowhere to sit down and enjoy dinner, that’s not going to be fun!

The Food

The menu depends on the time of day you’re throwing the shower. You can go for these options:

Breakfast: Omelets, fruit and yogurt parfaits, French toast casserole and sausage patties.

Lunch: Chicken salad wraps or tuna sandwiches with potato salad, deviled eggs and summer rolls.

Dinner: Shrimp scampi with pasta or chicken piccata over linguine with roasted vegetables.

Snacks: Guacamole, hummus with sliced vegetables for dipping and chocolate ganache truffles at the end of the shower send-off brunch (it’s traditional to serve this type of food after the bride has left).

Conclusion

A bridal shower is a great opportunity to show your appreciation for the bride-to-be. It’s also a chance to get together with friends, which means you should take advantage of it by making sure everyone has something in their hands at all times.

There you have it! Some of these tips were easier to follow than others, but they all boil down to the same thing: make sure you’re thinking about the bride. It’s her special day, and she deserves it. You can throw an unforgettable bridal shower if you put in some effort and listen carefully to what she wants out of this event.

How to Find the Perfect Bridesmaid Dress for Your Body

You may have a friend or relative who needs you to be their bridesmaid. It’s an honor to be asked; you will no doubt want to look your absolute best on the day. However, when selecting the perfect dress, there are many things to consider. No two body shapes are alike, and you should always choose a dress that flatters your unique figure. Here are some tips for finding the ideal bridesmaid dress for your body type.

  1. Know Your Body Type

You cannot find the right dress unless you know your body type. There are five common body shapes: apple, pear, column, rectangle, and hourglass. If you’re unsure which one best describes your figure, look at some online images to get an idea. Knowing your shape is the first step in finding a dress that will flatter and enhance your beauty. These are the most common body types:

  • Apple: If you have a rounder frame with most of your weight concentrated in the middle, you are an apple shape.
  • Pear: If your hips are wider than your shoulders and you have a slim waistline, you are likely a pear shape.
  • Column: If the width of your shoulders, waist, and hips are approximately the same and you’re slender, then you may be a column shape.
  • Rectangle: This body type is similar to the column shape but slightly broader in the shoulders and hips.
  • Hourglass: If your waistline is significantly smaller than your bust and hip measurements, this might describe an hourglass shape.
  1. Choose a Dress That Flatters Your Shape

Once you know your body type, you can start shopping for dresses that look great.

If you’re an apple shape, avoid tight-fitting dresses as they will only accentuate your roundness. Instead, go for a dress with an A-line silhouette or one that cinches in at the waist and skims over your curves. For pear shapes, try a dress with an empire waistline or slightly longer at the front to draw attention away from your hips.

If you’re a rectangle shape, look for dresses with belts or detailing around the waist to create definition. Hourglass shapes can show off their curves with a wrap dress or one that hugs the body. Finally, column shapes look great in dresses with ruching, pleats, and drapes. Dainty Jewells has a variety of options that will flatter any body type. Just remember to get the right size, as a dress that is too big or small won’t do your figure any favors.

  1. Accessorize Creatively

Accessories can be a great way to enhance your natural beauty and add interest to your bridesmaid dress. You can use accessories like shawls, scarves, jewelry, and shoes to create a unique look. Consider wearing a statement necklace or earrings that match the dress’s color or a pair of bold shoes that will make you stand out.

The perfect bridesmaid dress should make you feel confident and beautiful. Take the time to find the one that best suits your body type, and accessorize it with pieces that reflect your style. With a little effort, you will look gorgeous on the day.

  1. Make Sure You Love It

The most important thing to remember when choosing a bridesmaid dress is that you must love it. After all, you will wear it on the day and don’t want to feel uncomfortable or out of place. If there are any aspects of the dress that you don’t like (such as the color, style, or fabric), don’t be afraid to speak up. Your bridesmaids help you find the perfect dress and make sure you feel amazing on the big day. If you struggle to find something you love, don’t be afraid to look for other options. You will look and feel beautiful on your friend’s special day with the right dress.

Finding the right bridesmaid dress for your body type is key to looking and feeling great on a particular day. Finding one is much easier once you know your body shape, so take the time to identify which one best describes you. With these tips in mind, you’ll be sure to look beautiful and feel confident at the wedding.

What are the Four Cs of Diamonds?

Diamonds are beautiful as a gem hanging from a white gold chain and as a cluster of jewels in an engagement ring. They are adorned by many because of their distinct beauty and durability. However, to find the best clarity diamond possible, a diamond graded by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) standards is a must. GIA, during the mid-twentieth century, developed a universal grading method that embodies a checklist of the four C’s; color, clarity, cut, and carat weight. These are touched on further below.

Color

Initially, a diamond is graded on the presence or lack of color found within the jewel. The absence of color within a diamond is depicted of premium quality and shall cost more. With no hues presence, a diamond is referred to as chemically and structurally pure and perfect. By using the globally recognized GIA diamond color system, graded from D to Z, the absence or presence of color can be expressed. The letter D is used to represent a colorless diamond, however, if the presence of color is witnessed within the diamond, the letter grade increases. It’s important to note that hues within diamonds are mostly invisible to the untrained eye.

Clarity

As most diamonds used for jewelry are produced within the earth’s mantle, they are exposed to intense heat and pressure, and small crystals can get caught inside the diamond during their creation. Consequently, it’s a natural occurrence for many diamonds to have what is referred to in clarity as inclusions and blemishes. It’s important to know, no diamond is 100% pure. However, there are different grades of clarity, such as FL (flawless) that come pretty close.
