Our girl Rihanna and her nails weren’t the only beauty standouts at the 2015 BET Awards – additionally, Zendaya’s pixie cut hairstyle that she sported shows she’s come a long way since KC Undercover.
Zendaya was styled by makeup artist pro Allan Avendaño, who said, “the hair definitely inspired the overall makeup look. Zendaya’s short pixie cut influenced how deep we wanted her contour and how soft we went with her eyeshadow and lip shades. Since she chose a strong hairstyle and her dress was glitzy, we went with a soft eye and lip look so as not to overpower the overall look.”
In addition to her fierce new hairstyle, Zendaya’s see through glitzy shirtdress and silver platform peeptoe heels made a showstopper of an outfit for the night. Simple silver jewelry complemented the look.
“I took a glimpse of Zendaya’s shimmering dress & knew I wanted pastel shades & golden skin,” the artist said. “We kept makeup soft and used pastel shades to complement the jewel tones of her dress and drastic hair.”
Her final look reminded him of a “fierce fairy princess.” Rawr! We totally agree.
The final look had a focus on Zendaya’s contoured cheeks, defined eyebrows and soft pastel eyeshadows that matched her dress. “The trickiest element to Zendaya’s look was the contouring,” her artist noted. “Make sure to blend all your lines together.”
