How Much Is Teeth Whitening?

Who doesn’t want whiter teeth? I sure did — but I didn’t have the money or time to go get it done at the dentist, and all the white strips and home kits I’d ever tried have been, well, less than impressive.

Given that, I was a bit skeptical that SmileBrilliant would do the trick, but they explained to me how their system was different. It’s a professional-level whitening system that you can do at home, with a few special qualities that set it apart.

First, SmileBrilliant makes specialized whitening trays that are custom molded to your teeth. This made a huge difference for me, since my teeth are a wee bit crooked and I find most whitening products miss the nooks and crannies that creates.

Sound complicated? It’s really not. Taking the impressions is simple and it comes with an easy-peasy pre-made envelope to drop in the mail and send back. (Perfect for me, since I am SO lazy when it comes to mailing things.)

Secondly, they include a desensitizing gel to use after your whitening treatment. This doesn’t just make your teeth more comfortable – it also allows the teeth to become less porous, so they’re less apt to stain after whitening. Thus, it makes your treatment work even better!

The process isn’t tough: once you get back your custom trays, you simply inject the whitening gel in them and put them on, allowing them to sit on your teeth  for anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours.

Follow with the desensitizing gel, applied into the same trays. Don’t eat or drink for 30 minutes after you desensitize – even water!
