The Mauve Collection’s palette is a black, sleek, modern affair with a blush, 3 eyeshadows and 3 lip colors. The blush, called – surprise – Mauve, is a dusty rose and was surprisingly flattering to my warm skin tone. An interesting tidbit: the Mauve Collection was inspired by Ali McGraw’s look in the classic film Love Story.
The lip colors are Dusty Mauve ( a light shimmery brown with little pigment), Mauve (a pink heather that’s only a pinch less sheer than the first shade), and Vintage Mauve ( a reddish brown with a good bit of pigment). I found the last shade too dark for my very light and yellow-y complexion, but found all the colors to be smooth, easy to apply with a lip brush, and long wearing.
All in all, I loved this palette; the realistically muted tones combined with the quality of Bobbi’s products make it a winner. Some of the shades didn’t work with my complexion, but isn’t that true of all makeup?
