Top Trends in Non-Surgical Aesthetic Medicine

Around one million Americans get Botox injections every year, which is testimony to the vast reach that non-surgical aesthetic medicine has in the US. Fillers, Botox, and laser treatments, once the realm of the rich and famous, are now seen as safe, popular, effective ways to combat aging without going under the knife. What treatments are trending in the beauty world and what are they telling us about the priorities of beauty-conscious men and women?

PRF Injections
Although fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane are still popular, when it comes to filling in fine lines and wrinkles and bestowing youthful appearances, PRF injections are also trending in a big way and are frequently recommended by celebrities and social media influencers alike. PRF injections involve taking a small vial of blood from the patient. The blood is then put through a centrifugal machine to obtain platelet-rich fibrin. The latter is then reinjected into specific areas in the face to restore volume and fitness. Interestingly, this treatment is also used to treat joint and tendon injuries owing to its ability to promote healing. In terms of skin, PRF injections stimulate collagen regrowth, thus softening and brightening the complexion.

Fractora Laser for Smoother, Firmer, Younger Looking Skin
Laser treatments like Fraxel and Fractora are being embraced by those wishing to have smoother, tighter, glowing skin. The treatment reduces skin irregularities, softens lines and wrinkles, tightens skin, battles acne outbreaks, and reduces acne scarring. It involves the application of concentrated radiofrequency to specific parts of the skin. A session can take as little as 20 minutes and downtime can be as little as a couple of days. Usually, professionals recommend repeating this treatment around three times, at four- or six-week intervals.

K-Laser for Post Surgical Scarring
Operations such as breast augmentations and tummy tucks are among the most common aesthetic operations being carried out in current times. K-Laser is seen as a handy complement to these procedures since it is aimed at reducing the appearance of postoperative scars. It is effective even against large scars resulting from procedures such as breast lifts and it can be used even on painful scars. This treatment is additionally beneficial for wound healing.

Microfocused Ultrasound for Skin Tightening
This treatment involves delivering ultrasound energy to the deeper layers of skin to promote the growth of collagen and elastin. It works by gently heating skin tissue, thus stimulating collagen and elastin growth at different skin levels. It works with skin of all densities and is an FAA-approved non-surgical lifting procedure. The treatment, also known as Ulthera, allows the professional to visualize the different layers of skin thanks to ultrasound imaging. This enables the delivery of energy to the desired layer. The treatment lasts for around half an hour and one session is usually enough. Best of all, it is considered a ‘lunchtime’ treatment, meaning you can have it done on your break and return to work or your usual activities on the same day.
Aesthetic medicine is constantly growing in popularity. Currently, trending treatments include Botox, fillers, and lasers such as Fractora and K-Laser. Microfocused ultrasound and PRF injections are also helping people turn back the hands of time in a minimally invasive yet highly effective manner.
