I have something very personal to share with you today.
Health and wellness are incredibly important to me, but I let them fall by the wayside at the end of 2015. Wine and holiday cheer were a bit more important, but I thought, “eh, I’ll turn it around in the New Year.”
Then in January, a close family friend passed away very unexpectedly. I’ve been trying not to let it overtake my efforts, especially because health + wellness could have made all the difference for him — all the more reason to take care of oneself. Still – it’s been hard.
But I’ve got to get it together – come what may.
Since this year began, I’ve resumed some regular exercise with an emphasis on starting the day with light cardio – it really helps to get my mind going without being too hard on my body. I’ve also committed to drinking lots more water in the New Year, since I noticed my skin has become a bit dull and sallow and dehydration can definitely be a factor.
I’ve also added some new vitamins to my regimen, which is something I say often as I’m a bit of a vitamin and supplement addict. I’ve been wanting some vitamins for “inner beauty”, so I went to Walmart and checked out their extensive NatureMade collection. NatureMade is the nation’s #1 best-selling brand for quality vitamins, minerals and supplements*, AND the #1 Pharmacist recommended supplement brand in 9 categories**. (And Walmart’s a great place for vitamins – no need to wait for a sale like at other overpriced stores).
Here’s what I picked up:
How will these boost my beauty? Vitamin C plays an integral part in the synthesis of collagen, which helps support healthy skin.† VitaMelts® Hair Skin and Nails contains both biotin and vitamin C in a great tasting, fast melting tablet. Biotin may help support healthy hair, skin, and nails in individuals lacking sufficient biotin, and vitamin C (as just discussed) supports collagen synthesis.†
NatureMade’s website also has some great ideas for daily wellness “boosts”. Sign up and be a part of the Nature Made Daily Boost program for inspiration on the reg.
What are you doing to boost your wellness this year — no matter what hardships come along to derail you?
