How To Throw An Unforgettable Bridal Shower

Planning a bridal shower can be stressful. Many people say that the bride should plan her shower, but I disagree. Yes, you want it to be personal and special for your friend, but if she’s busy planning her wedding and doesn’t have time to attend every bridal shower in town then let your friends help out! I’m going over some tips on throwing an unforgettable bridal shower. Here are some of my favourite memories from my showers:

Find out what the bride wants

First and foremost, it’s important to find out what the bride wants. If you are planning to get in one of that maid of honor dresses, you can’t mess up this party. If she doesn’t have a specific color scheme or theme in mind, you may want to check with her best friends or bridesmaids to see if they have any ideas that they’d like incorporated into the shower. It’s always better to ask than assume!

Only invite people you know the bride likes

Your bridal shower is a celebration of the bride, but it should be fun for everyone involved. If you invite people who aren’t friends with the bride, or who are not part of her family, then those guests will likely not have much in common with the other guests. They’ll be standing off to the side awkwardly during most activities and could even hurt the overall mood if they don’t know how to handle themselves in social situations.

Don’t make it all about the gifts

When you’re having a bridal shower, it’s easy to get caught up in all the gifts and flowers, but don’t let them distract you from what’s important: The bride. If you have a bridal shower, your job as a bridesmaid is not just to plan the party, but also to make sure that everything runs smoothly and everyone has fun. Above all else, keep in mind that this party should be about celebrating your friend’s happiness!

If there are any rules about “gift etiquette,” they should focus on limiting the money each giver spends—not whether or not she gives at all. After all, no matter how much money people spend on their presents), nothing says “I love my friend” more than putting together an unforgettable event. If someone can’t afford anything for their gift list (or doesn’t want to go overboard), that’s fine too! You can always give her something special later when life settles down again after the wedding day madness passes by.

Ask a few guests to assist you

The first thing to do is ask a few guests to assist you. These volunteers should be people who are good at planning, cooking, decorating and entertaining. They should also be able to clean up afterwards. Once you’ve chosen these helpers it’s time to move on to step two: planning the menu!

Activities aren’t required, but they can be fun

Activities are a great way to break up the day and keep guests engaged. You can choose activities that are educational, competitive, relaxing or silly. As long as it’s something everyone will enjoy—and you have the time for it!

Decorate, but don’t go overboard

Don’t go overboard with decorations. You can do something simple and charming like hang up some paper lanterns or put up some streamers. The most important thing is to ensure you have enough space for the food—if there is nowhere to sit down and enjoy dinner, that’s not going to be fun!

The Food

The menu depends on the time of day you’re throwing the shower. You can go for these options:

Breakfast: Omelets, fruit and yogurt parfaits, French toast casserole and sausage patties.

Lunch: Chicken salad wraps or tuna sandwiches with potato salad, deviled eggs and summer rolls.

Dinner: Shrimp scampi with pasta or chicken piccata over linguine with roasted vegetables.

Snacks: Guacamole, hummus with sliced vegetables for dipping and chocolate ganache truffles at the end of the shower send-off brunch (it’s traditional to serve this type of food after the bride has left).

Conclusion

A bridal shower is a great opportunity to show your appreciation for the bride-to-be. It’s also a chance to get together with friends, which means you should take advantage of it by making sure everyone has something in their hands at all times.

There you have it! Some of these tips were easier to follow than others, but they all boil down to the same thing: make sure you’re thinking about the bride. It’s her special day, and she deserves it. You can throw an unforgettable bridal shower if you put in some effort and listen carefully to what she wants out of this event.

You may have a friend or relative who needs you to be their bridesmaid. It’s an honor to be asked; you will no doubt want to look your absolute best on the day. However, when selecting the perfect dress, there are many things to consider. No two body shapes are alike, and you should always choose a dress that flatters your unique figure. Here are some tips for finding the ideal bridesmaid dress for your body type.

  1. Know Your Body Type

You cannot find the right dress unless you know your body type. There are five common body shapes: apple, pear, column, rectangle, and hourglass. If you’re unsure which one best describes your figure, look at some online images to get an idea. Knowing your shape is the first step in finding a dress that will flatter and enhance your beauty. These are the most common body types:

  • Apple: If you have a rounder frame with most of your weight concentrated in the middle, you are an apple shape.
  • Pear: If your hips are wider than your shoulders and you have a slim waistline, you are likely a pear shape.
  • Column: If the width of your shoulders, waist, and hips are approximately the same and you’re slender, then you may be a column shape.
  • Rectangle: This body type is similar to the column shape but slightly broader in the shoulders and hips.
  • Hourglass: If your waistline is significantly smaller than your bust and hip measurements, this might describe an hourglass shape.
  1. Choose a Dress That Flatters Your Shape

Once you know your body type, you can start shopping for dresses that look great.

If you’re an apple shape, avoid tight-fitting dresses as they will only accentuate your roundness. Instead, go for a dress with an A-line silhouette or one that cinches in at the waist and skims over your curves. For pear shapes, try a dress with an empire waistline or slightly longer at the front to draw attention away from your hips.

If you’re a rectangle shape, look for dresses with belts or detailing around the waist to create definition. Hourglass shapes can show off their curves with a wrap dress or one that hugs the body. Finally, column shapes look great in dresses with ruching, pleats, and drapes. Dainty Jewells has a variety of options that will flatter any body type. Just remember to get the right size, as a dress that is too big or small won’t do your figure any favors.

  1. Accessorize Creatively

Accessories can be a great way to enhance your natural beauty and add interest to your bridesmaid dress. You can use accessories like shawls, scarves, jewelry, and shoes to create a unique look. Consider wearing a statement necklace or earrings that match the dress’s color or a pair of bold shoes that will make you stand out.

The perfect bridesmaid dress should make you feel confident and beautiful. Take the time to find the one that best suits your body type, and accessorize it with pieces that reflect your style. With a little effort, you will look gorgeous on the day.

  1. Make Sure You Love It

The most important thing to remember when choosing a bridesmaid dress is that you must love it. After all, you will wear it on the day and don’t want to feel uncomfortable or out of place. If there are any aspects of the dress that you don’t like (such as the color, style, or fabric), don’t be afraid to speak up. Your bridesmaids help you find the perfect dress and make sure you feel amazing on the big day. If you struggle to find something you love, don’t be afraid to look for other options. You will look and feel beautiful on your friend’s special day with the right dress.

Finding the right bridesmaid dress for your body type is key to looking and feeling great on a particular day. Finding one is much easier once you know your body shape, so take the time to identify which one best describes you. With these tips in mind, you’ll be sure to look beautiful and feel confident at the wedding.

7 Money-Saving Tips You Need To Be Aware Of When Planning A Wedding

Planning a wedding is a hugely exciting time for any budding bride or groom. However, the thought of paying for a wedding can heavily weigh on you. Will your big day live up to expectations? There is a way to plan your dream day on a budget by using some clever money-saving tips. This guide is here to offer a helping hand. We cover it all, from digital wedding invitations to DIY.

Create A Budget And Track Spending

One of the first things you must do before you get carried away with your wedding plans is determine your budget. By setting a budget for your big day, you will be able to set realistic expectations in place. To avoid straying over your budget, you must track your spending as you start to plan your big day. For this, you will need to use a spending tracker app. You can find plenty of these online. By sticking to your budget and tracking your spending, you will be able to identify areas of your wedding where you could cut costs. For example, do you need to pay for a photo booth? Or could you save some money in your budget and spend it on something more important?

Try And Avoid A Weekend Date

Most engaged couples want to have their wedding on the weekend, which is understandable. After all, most people work during the weekday and having a wedding on the weekend would not require them to book any time off. Unfortunately, you can expect to pay a lot more for wedding venues on the weekend. If you want to save yourself a substantial amount of money, take a weekday wedding into consideration. The way you have to see it is this wedding is about you and your partner. You must not worry about other people’s feelings. If they do not want to support you on your wedding day, that is their choice. A weekday wedding is just as magical as a weekend one!

Consider Renting The Wedding Dress And Suits

There is no denying that the cost of a wedding dress and suits for your groomsmen adds up. A wedding dress alone can cost upwards of one thousand dollars. Luckily, there is a way around this. Why not consider renting your wedding dress and any suits you need for the big day? It is a fantastic way to save a substantial amount of money. You also don’t have to worry about spending money on an item you will never wear again, and you don’t have the hassle of storing it. As for memories, you will have plenty of pictures to reflect on to remind you of your dress and suits on the big day.

Digital Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations are one of those expenses that are a necessity, but when you look at the price of them, it can make your eyes water. Rather than paying a lot for physical wedding invitations, consider switching to digital invitations instead. They can save you a lot of time and money. The best part is none of your guests can misplace them. So, you will find it a lot easier to collect RSVPs. Take a look at some of these digital wedding invitations by Greenvelope to inspire you. There are plenty of different designs you can choose to suit the theme of your big day. Digital wedding invitations also take the hassle away of posting multiple invites, and you can avoid paying for postage too.

Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Favours

Do you know someone in the family who can make a delicious cake? Or maybe you know someone with a lovely fancy car that you can travel to the wedding in? If so, don’t be afraid to ask for favors. What is the worst thing that can happen? The person says no. However, nine times out of ten, you will find the person in your life is happy to help and make your big day as memorable as possible. The best part? You will save a lot of money, which is the aim here. If you are worried about asking for a favor, you can offer them something kind in return. For example, if you ask a family member to make your wedding cake, offer to cook them dinner one night as a thank you.

Make DIY Your Best Friend

If you want to save money on your wedding, one of the best things you can do is turn to DIY. Many people are now choosing to DIY parts of their wedding, and it is clear to see why. It is a great way to add a personal touch to your wedding – and can save a substantial amount of money. You can choose to make your own wedding favors and decorations. As previously discussed, you can also DIY your own digital wedding invitations. The great thing about DIY – is your opportunities are endless. Take a look at some DIY wedding decorations online and let them spark your imagination.

Avoid A Corkage Fee

You may decide that you want to buy your own alcoholic drinks for your wedding venue. After all, it will save you a lot more money than hiring a bar – and will certainly keep your guests happy. However, most couples fail to ask their chosen venue if they charge a corkage fee, which is something that can sting them further down the line. A corkage fee is a charge that your venue will give you if you choose to bring your own alcohol. It can be a lot more expensive than you think. So, to avoid a shock charge later down the line, you should always ask. Not all venues will charge this fee. However, most of them will.

Summary

So, there we have it – seven money-saving tips to help you enjoy your big day on a budget. Digital wedding invitations, DIY, and spending trackers are some fantastic examples. Who said a wedding had to put a financial strain on you? Certainly not us.

5 TIPS TO EMBELLISH YOUR WEDDING TABLE

Small details can make a big impact, and we cannot afford to have any of the wrong décors if we want a quintessential wedding reception. The correct wedding table decorating idea designs a perfect table for an excellent reception- something which a newlywed couple would love! You may or may not know, but tables play a very important role on any occasion. Here are five tips to enhance your wedding table:

  • FLOWERS

Do you wish for something passionate? Then go for lots and lots of florets. A minimalist bunch of blooms, vases filled with elegant flowers, bouquets, and garlands spread over the table would look tasteful and sophisticated.

Now, if you want, you can also elevate your ideas of using flowers to decorate the wedding table. Instead of putting the flowers as just centerpieces, you can hang them right above the dining table. Suspending garlands of flowers from the ceiling will not only be unique but will also add a feature to the room.

Another inexpensive way to use flowers is to scatter them on the wedding table around the centerpiece. You can use rosebuds or different combinations of rose petals, say red, pink, and white, along with seashells, beads made of glass, or glitters. You can try out the forever roses as well to make the place look lovely!

  • CENTERPIECES

A rookie mistake that can be made here is the proportion of the size of the centerpiece to the table. Many times, centerpieces are pretty large, which kind of looks distracting.

Centerpieces such as small bouquets, table runners, or candles would do good. Vintage vases and tiny mirrors would look kind of chic and unique.

The centerpieces can also be according to a theme. For example, say the theme is ‘Autumn Wedding.’ Here you can decorate the wedding table with showpieces of pumpkins or a cup of pumpkin-spiced latte and also dried autumn leaves.

  • TABLE CLOTH

Table linen is a mandatory factor. We can choose from a variety of linen, starting from cosmopolitan white linen to heavy embroidered purple linen. Table runners and napkins should be placed accordingly.

For example, if you use a white silk cloth as the table linen, a pink linen handkerchief would go just faultless with it, along with a golden laced table runner.

Always choose a bright and bold color for the table cloth followed by textured or patterns. If you want to use subtle colors for the table cloth, make sure that the table runner is bold. Here comes the glassware and utensils.

The silverware should be according to the table cloth. For example, if you use subtle colors for table cloth, you can have colored glassware.

  • CARDS

Clean work looks pretty. Escort cards and table numbers can be put accordingly on the tables to make it easier for the guests to know where they are sitting and eating. For example, if the guests require a special menu- like vegetarian options, eggetarian, gluten-free, or lactose intolerance- these cards can come into handy.

Another creative thing to put on these cards could be little messages like “Thank you for coming!” or “Thank you for being with us on our special day.”, or “It means a lot to us that you could come!” It would look cute and adorable.

You can also have the menu written on the card, starting from appetizers to desserts. If you want to offer custom drinks to guests, you can make an art of display on the cocktail that you are serving.

It is both a unique and smart way to serve drinks, as not only do you get to showcase your artistic idea, but the guests know what they are drinking and whether they are prone to it or not.

  • CEILING ABOVE THE WEDDING TABLE

The ceiling above the wedding table is as important as the table itself. You can drape the ceiling above with alluring fabrics. Adding to the ambiance, you can suspend fairy light. You can also suspend lanterns from the ceilings, which will create a dreamy, soothing glow. You can also opt for LED lights and chandeliers but do not make the place too crowded.

I hope you liked these stunning wedding table ideas. Implement them & we’re sure you will fall in love with the décor yourself!

How Your Choice of Photographer Can Completely Transform Your Memories

If you’ve hired a photographer before then you will know whether, or not you were satisfied with the results, once the photos were produced and left with you. The trouble is, that’s a little bit too late to make any changes and, normally people hire a photographer for a once in a lifetime event that can’t be re-lived, it’s been and gone so, you’ve got what you got. Next time you might want to think about the following before making any decisions;

Keep it simple with these 3 pre-hire considerations

Their portfolio

A photographer’s portfolios can be the reason they are hired so make sure to ask them, they will likely volunteer it, however, ask to see as many of their photos as possible, it will give you an insight into their style and personality. Some people will want to use a photographer that is trained in using apps and special lighting in order to create a particular feel, whereas, others will want to work with somebody that is gifted in the art of taking beautiful, natural photographs, it’s a really personal choice.

Specialty or, area of expertise

The top photographers such as Zest Photography possess a unique set of abilities that can aid you in making your ultimate pic, there must be a touch, natural talent or flair which is where the real magic comes from mixed with the experience and knowledge of how to make the most of the latest technology. It’s also important for them to know which tech will bring out the best in your photos and whether or not any digital enhancements will actually produce the best results.

You could liken the profession of a photographer to that of an artist, they have to take everything into consideration, including fashion and, use the best tools available in order to produce the best results for you, your family or friends. There are different areas of photography so it’s important to bear that in mind when making a choice, for example, some photographers may be highly trained in event photography or, further still, they might focus on one event in particular such as weddings.

Ethics

When a professional photographer takes a photo, they are doing much more than just taking a snap, anybody can do that. Like an artist, the best of photographers will use their senses to get a feel for the best settings to capture your moment, part of their personality will be a contributing factor to your final photographs so it’s important that you choose somebody that you gel with.

You’ll want to find a special person that has similar ethics or goals as you do so that they can really understand what it is you are hoping to gain from their services. It’s also important that they do what they say they will, when they say they will do it, so that no super important moments are missed.

They will also need to be capable of your demands. What if you don’t like one of their photos and ask them to re-take it? Their reaction could make all the difference to your big day, so it’s important to find somebody that you can be open with and that will listen when you need them to.
