I love liquid shadows, especially anything sparkly. Is that predictable of me? Oh, well. Revlon debuted this product with their other Limited Edition shimmery lip toppings and shadows, so I picked up Molten Metal in Gold Digger #550. The tip is fabric and slides the shadow on comfortably but visibly. The product goes on smooth and dries neatly, and is easy to alter with a Q-tip and water so the edges are clean.
My only complaint about this shadow is that the shade isn’t quite as intense as I thought the name “Molten Metal” suggested; I was hoping for a MAC-level deposit of extreme pigment. The result may be even better, though; I can wear it during the day to add some highlight to my look without feeling like a drag queen, and the shine factor is massive. And the name “Gold Digger” is at least undebatable; the color is nothing but gold with no hint of copper or bronze.

I, like many girls, am a bargain shopper. If it’s on clearance, there is at least a 50% higher chance that I will buy it. So when I strolled into Walgreens and saw this shampoo sitting on the shelf covered in red stickers, I said, “I have to have it! It’s 75% off!”
Sure, there were a few red flags. It said “conditioning” before shampoo, as if the creators were under the delusion that ANY shampoo was moisturizing enough to entirely replace the role of conditioner. Worse, it said “shampoo and body wash”. Any combination product is generally terrible at both jobs. But the shopper in me took over, forgot that if Jessica Simpson’s image isn’t enough to sell it, it’s bad, and took this little gem home.

Let’s face it: all drugstore cosmetics girls love Maybelline. So today I’m reviewing Maybelline shiny-licious lip gloss. I own two shades of this, #40 lolly pink and #90 melon ball. I enjoy Lolly Pink the most – it looks natural but still shiny. While it doesn’t feel sticky on your lips, it will if you get any on your fingers. The applicator is a plushy fabric tip, making it smooth and comfortable to apply but hard to clean.

I’m a liquid eyeliner addict, so I’ve pretty much tried everything. This is one that can always be found in my makeup drawer, but I won’t say it’s the best. Maybelline Ultra-Liner is a liquid eyeliner that has one amazing feature – it is pretty insanely waterproof. I mean really. Jump in the pool, take a shower, it’s not going anywhere.
Ultra Liner has a thick brush tip that’s a little hard to manage if you’re new to liquid liner, but easy and quick to slide on once you know what you’re doing. It’s hard to get a thin, sleek line with it, so I’d only use it on my upper lid (unless you’re going for a gothy look or want insanely smoky eyes for a night on the town).
The finish is like a plastic shell of liner, which is great for being waterproof and doesn’t smudge at all, but bad for a couple of reasons: since the normal method of lining your eyes is to pull your lid straight, it can crinkle and crack at the sides; also, the finish is kind of shiny and can kill the ultra-black effect, especially in photos.

Spoiler alert: this is going to be a rave review. Ultra-Gloss is my favorite lip gloss of all time. Here’s how much I love this gloss: I paid $23 for it, was made to throw it out at the airport during the “liquid” scare by security Nazis fine upstanding IAH employees just doing their job, and went back to Macy’s as soon as I got home to buy it again.
I am a huge Dior fan. It’s not only the high-end designer appeal, but also the lush girlishness of it; while Chanel’s packaging is simple and elegant in black and white, Dior opts for colorful, embossed cases with shine, and the Addict line is no exception.
