Okay ladies, like it or not it’s November 1 and Halloween is officially over. So you know what that means – it’s time for me to commit the mortal sin of talking about Christmas! And what’s better for the holidays than a full, bold red lip color? (Okay, maybe an iPad.)
BA Star, a makeup company that specializes in cheer and dance team makeup, sent me their Holiday Red Lip Pencil and I was skeptical at first – could a lip pencil really deliver the kind of intense color I wanted? The answer is yes. One swipe and I could see why the BA Star line is so stage-friendly: the color was bright, vivid and wasn’t going anywhere.
This pencil is the kind I call a “chubby pencil” for some reason (maybe because it’s, you know, chubby, but I don’t know where I originally got that term), and it glides on softly and smoothly – wonderful since I was afraid applying lip pencil as lipcolor would involve me stabbing myself repeatedly in the mouth in a stippling motion or dragging a rough tip across my already chapped pout. Not so! I’m extremely impressed.
BA Star sells this lip pencil for $8.75 on their website, but the company is also offering my readers a massive 50% off discount on it with coupon code BBLIPS. Get it while it’s hot – or even better, while it’s cold! (Get it? Cold weather, red lips? No?)
