Makeup Reviews: L’Oreal Infallible Lip Gloss

L'oreal Infallible Lip GlossMy rule on longwear lipcolor has always been to divide the number of hours it claims to last by three to get a closer estimate of how long the product will stick around. The hardest part, though, is finding lip gloss that actually looks good while it stays on. Luckily, I’ve discovered L’Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss.

The applicator tip is the key to this product’s genius – it’s bent at an angle, making it easy to apply the gloss evenly in just one swipe per lip, while the pointed tip makes neatly covering the outer corners of lips and the arches under the Cupid’s bow a breeze.

L’Oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Conditioning Treatment Review

LOreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Conditioning Treatment reviewAfter trying L’Oreal’s Vive Pro Color shampoo and conditioner, I didn’t think another drugstore haircare product could beat it. I’m happy to report that L’Oreal has outdone themselves with the Vive Pro Nutri Gloss line, and that my skepticism over the “mirror shine, cashmere touch” tagline has been disproven.

L’Oreal Vive Pro Color Shampoo and Conditioner Review

loreal vive pro color vive reviewWhile I adore a good bargain in cosmetic products, I have to admit that I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to haircare. Consequently, I tend to turn up my nose at any shampoo or conditioner available at the drugstore. (If I don’t have to at least go to Trade Secret, it’s not good enough!) But I’ve enjoyed L’Oreal’s makeup and haircolor lines, so I thought I’d give their Vive Pro Color Vive line the chance to impress me.

Color Vive offers formulas for normal, damaged and highlighted hair; since I’m an ex-blonde with red color on top and a tendency toward strawlike Scarecrow strands, I opted for “damaged”. The shampoo’s scent is clean, light and reminds me of the smell hair salon shampoos have – not a bad sign! You don’t need much shampoo and the lather isn’t a gargantuan bubbly mess, so it rinses well even when followed with Color Vive Conditioner.

L’Oreal Skin Genesis Serum Concentrate Review

loreal-skin-genesis-daily-treatmentIf you’re looking for anti-aging products, listen up. L’Oreal’s Skin Genesis line makes use of the company’s own patented ingredient, Pro-Xylane, which aims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by boosting the production of glycoaminoglycans within the skin. And if you’re not into the science of things – the Skin Genesis serum won Allure Magazine’s Best of Beauty Awards for Best Breakthrough in Skin Care, so you know it’s got something special. Plus, it’s got a 7/10 average on Total Beauty!

The lightly scented Skin Genesis serum is on the watery side, but applies smoothly and soaks into skin with ease. A little serum goes a long way – don’t overapply or you’ll be cleaning up with a washcloth.

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-tanning Mist Review

LOreal Sublime Bronze Express Pro Tanning Mist ReviewI know tanning is an odd topic for a Thanksgiving Day post, but squint your way through your turkey coma and hear me out. Tanning is a toughie. Tan in a tanning bed, and you risk developing skin cancer. Mystic Tan can be expensive and usually lasts a week or less, depending on showering. Tanning yourself at home can be one of the most economical, easily maintained and safe tanning options, but is it easy enough for the average girl to pull off herself? I tried out L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush Self-tanning Mist in Medium Natural Tan to find out.

I loved the 360-degree continuous spray; it made it easy to spray all the way around my leg in one simple motion, rather than to have to stop and start in the hopes that you don’t overlap or miss a spot. It dries really quickly, too, without having to rub it in. The mist sprays so evenly and lightly, you can barely tell you have anything on you. Overall, the application process really satisfied me – above and beyond what I expected from a self-tanner!

The Results:
