Fragrance Friday: KENZO Ryoko Collection

KENZO-Ryoko-2009-fragranceI adore contemporary design. There’s an intriguing quality in the brazen simplicity of it that’s almost ironic. I imagine fragrance giant KENZO was seeking just that when they enlisted designer Karim Rashid to release a limited edition collection of Kenzo’s top fragrances called Ryoko. The result is both fabulous and functional!

The word “ryoko” means “travel” in Japanese, and they’ve designed the collection around this concept with the airport friendly fragrance pebbles all coming in under 3oz. The bean-shaped colorful orbs are suspended in a clear plastic casing. My favorite part? I don’t have to commit myself to a new fragrance to get one; I already know I love FlowerByKENZO.

Ryoko was a limited edition launch, so they’re hard to come by except through eBay and the occasional Amazon seller. (I found Ryoko edition Kenzo fragrances here and here.) The retail price is set to $29. Here’s the lineup:

For Her:
  • FlowerByKenzo eau de parfum nomad spray
  • KenzoAmour eau de parfum nomad spray
  • L’Eau Par Kenzo eau de parfum nomad spray
For Him:
  • L’Eau Par Kenzo Pour Homme nomad spray
  • Tokyo By Kenzo nomad spray
