As you may already know, I’m very big on vitamins. I take a multivitamin, omega-3 fatty acid supplement, and a hair, nails and skin vitamin every day. Well, now I have a new supplement that’s earned a permanent place in my regimen: Estroblock.
Estroblock is an all-natural, vegan supplement designed to inhibit the production of “bad” estrogen, which encourages a host of problems in women including fat production and acne. Ew! Its ingredients are naturally found in raw cruciferous vegetables such as raw broccoli, and two capsules are equal to the Estroblock found in two pounds of raw vegetables. I don’t eat two pounds of raw veggies a day – do you?

I’m excited to announce that I’m involved in a cool beauty blogger project called #TheSkinProject! Herein our participating group of bloggers will be discussing their various skincare routines and favorite products. The topic du jour: cleansing!
I take a comparatively simple approach to cleansing: good old fashioned washing morning and night with my cleanser of choice (currently iQ Derma Clear Remedy Purifying Cleanser). I have combination skin with easily clogged pores, so I find this cleanser helps strip pores of dirt and oil without drying my skin out in the arid desert I inhabit.

I had a monster breakout recently, an event I’ve not experienced since high school. I mean it was scary. Desperate, I used Murad’s Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel, since they’re such a reputable brand in skincare that has served me well in the past. But the worst was yet to come.
Let me get right to the point. The gel has a very intense burning/tingling sensation, and even my normally hard-as-nails skin started itching & stinging. Many Murad acolytes claim using it repeatedly eliminates the itching sensation, but I’ve done it, and no. No, it does not. Each and every time, it has irritated my skin so badly that I had a compulsive need to remove it after application. Of course, being as loyal and hardworking for you guys as I am, I didn’t – I had research to do. Gel piled on giant zits, I spent 2 itchy, frustrating nights letting this stuff work its magic, carefully avoiding touching my skin for fear of transferring oil or rubbing this stuff off.

I rarely review skincare products – I’m ashamed to admit I’m instinctively more interested in the BandAid makeup provides for my skin problems – but this one was too good to miss. I’d run out of powder (my Victoria’s Secret Finishing Powder finally bit the dust) and I noticed the coupon could be used online, so I snagged the powder at Ulta and this stuff.
Now I have a rather embarrassing confession to make. I’ve had the most disgusting collection of blackheads in the pores in my nose since…
…wait for it…
…the SIXTH GRADE.
