Things I love: makeup, a nice Rosé, and surprises. Well, two outta three ain’t bad, and that’s what the good folks at Wantable sent me in the mail this week. I picked up the mail on the run so I had to do a quick-and-dirty opening in the car, but here’s a jazzier showcase of me sampling all my goodies: Continue reading #Wantable January 2015 Makeup Collection [VIDEO]

Makeup Reviews: Bobbi Brown Mauve Face Palette
Everyone loves a good makeup palette, especially when it’s from Bobbi Brown. Bobbi’s Mauve Collection is a limited edition line with refreshingly neutral colors; when it seems every cosmetics company is debuting intense pigments, it’s nice to get quality colors that are still wearable.
The Mauve Collection’s palette is a black, sleek, modern affair with a blush, 3 eyeshadows and 3 lip colors. The blush, called – surprise – Mauve, is a dusty rose and was surprisingly flattering to my warm skin tone. Makeup Reviews: Redpoint Airbrush Effects Blushwhip
A long time ago in a DermStore far, far away, I picked up a jar of RedPoint’s Airbrush Effects Blushwhip in Glow, a peachy-pink shade. At first glance I thought to myself, “this is going to get messy.” The crèmelike consistency of the product isn’t what I usually favor, but I’m not one to judge a product by its cover (only its coverage!).

Because of the consistency, it did make me glow, in contrast to the matte look you get with powder blushes. My complexion was flawless. It was a very satisfying experience, with only a couple of drawbacks.

Makeup Review: Maybelline Dream Mousse Cream Blush
It’s tough to find a great blush, and tougher to find one that looks natural on you. Fortunately, I got lucky and found one that flatters the bejeezus out of me for seven dollars!
Maybelline Dream Mousse is a long-lasting creme blush that feels soft to apply and blends seamlessly into skin with a subtle glowy finish that’s nothing but natural. It’s a great pick for beginners who still have trouble blending powder – you’d be hard-pressed to mess up blending this product.
Now don’t get too revved up yet, ladies – there are a couple of potential drawbacks. For one, it appears a little blush goes a long, LONG way. I bought mine in Pink Frosting #10, and have ended up sweeping on too-light pressed powder to correct my clown-like cheeks on more than one occasion.
