Confession: my Chanel foundation has turned me into a snob. I tried Rimmel’s new and improved version of Lasting Finish 16 HR Foundation with Minerals, fully expecting it to kind of suck just because it’s from the drugstore. What’s happened to me? I used to be so open-minded…well, that and cheap. But this product managed to surprise me!
The color (I used Soft Beige) matched my skin perfectly. The texture was creamy, but not too thick, and blended easily. The coverage is full but not at all fake-looking, and it somehow manages to look both matte and dewy. (Yeah, I know, what’s that about?)
Bonus: as we speak, it’s lasting all day, even without finishing powder. Is that even possible? Most drugstore foundations are too sticky and disgusting to wear without powder, and rub off at every chance. Kudos, Rimmel! I knew you got Kate Moss somehow! (Sidebar: don’t they have the best taste in spokeswomen? Zooey Deschanel, Lily Cole and the queen of 2D herself?)
The verdict: 10/10! That’s right. Ten. Count ’em.
Here’s a tip: don’t pick this baby up online: it’s hard to find in the newer, better formula. Instead, drive down to Walgreens or, even better, pick up the latest issue of Elle magazine – it’s got a free sample inside and a $1 coupon for any Rimmel cosmetics product. Score!
