Because of how many products I try, it’s very rare that one really piques my interest anymore. Athena’s 7 Minute Lift is one of the few that has succeeded in doing so. After seeing its slogan “Facelift in a Jar”, I assumed this was your typical glue-like moisturizer that might produce some results after 6 grueling weeks of daily use. Not so! Ladies, if you have wrinkles, sagging skin, laugh lines, or essentially any skin you’d like firmed and smoothed, you cannot miss out on this.
Athena 7 Minute Lift is very unique as products go. First of all, it’s not a cream so much as a thick gel – it comes with a concealer brush that you use to “paint” it onto your face and smooth problem areas. The product comes with detailed instructions on doing so, and even provides a Q&A of what to do if you have any number of problems with or questions about your results.
Similar to fillers such as L’Oreal Magic Perfecting Base or MAC Prep + Prime Line Filler (both great products themselves), you’re instructed to smooth 7 Minute Lift on the areas with sagging skin, lines, furrows, etc. but the similarities end when you must try your best to remain motionless for seven minutes. (This was the toughest part for me.) Just try and feel relaxed and calm while you wait.
After it finished, I saw a noticeable difference in a variety of areas. After using the Athena 7 Minute Lift, the divot above my upper lip, the fine lines in my forehead and my newly emerging smile lines (SO excited about that by the way) looked smooth and youthful – and even seemed to make my lips appear plumper because of the smoothness! As well, the wrinkles on my neck and décolletage smoothed out and were MUCH less noticeable. I was absolutely amazed at the results.
Now my first thought was, “This is all well and good, but I want results forever!” And supposedly, Athena delivers that too! This cream is supposed to provide even more youthful results in 30, 60, and 90 days – according to the company, the organic ingredients in Athena have antioxidants that stimulate collagen production and protect skin from free radicals to reduce the signs of aging. I’ll keep using it and let you know, but for now I’m satisfied with getting this look every day after putting it on.
Athena 7 Minute Lift isn’t cheap – the two-month supply is $89. I know that sounds like a lot, but it’s a risk-free money back thing, and trust me, you won’t be applying a return-shipping label anytime soon. Your skin may feel uncomfortably tight when you apply, but that feeling fades over time, and it’s much less noticeable if you apply less product at once. As well, if you overapply you may see some excess white particles hanging around your face – just brush ’em off with a wet washcloth. The included DVD has all the details, and I was impressed by how helpful they were.
The verdict: 10/10! Ladies, you can’t skip this product – it’s fabulous for any older woman, especially those considering dermal fillers or surgery. It’ll make you think twice about spending your extra hard-earned cash injecting a neurotoxin (did you know that Botox is literally the most acutely toxic substance known to man? No, REALLY) into your face.
