Can You Straighten Your Hair with a Clothes Iron?

Today, we endeavor to answer one of those questions that, perhaps, should never have been asked: can one flat-iron one’s hair with a clothing iron?

Some ask, why? We ask, why not?

Okay, I’d preface this by saying “don’t try this at home” or some similar cliche, but the likely story is that you won’t try it at home anyway. Your real straightener is at home. This desperate act would undoubtedly occur in a hotel room on vacation where your CHI has been carelessly left unattended to like poor little Kevin McAllister.

This act, although unnatural, can be performed on hair of a certain length. (That means long.) Here’s whatcha do: Continue reading Can You Straighten Your Hair with a Clothes Iron?

Sexy Sleek Hairstyle + Rose Gold Styling Tools #PMBigNightOut

Paul Mitchell Rose Gold Smoothing Iron Sculpting Brush Review You're GoldenI have a mild obsession with rose gold, fruity girl drinks, and beauty products. (Girls who are with me, say hey-oh!)

So when I (being a #PMInsider and all) got the Paul Mitchell limited edition You’re Golden Express Ion Smooth+ rose gold smoothing iron and sculpting brush, my face basically did this:

Technically, this product came out as part of Paul Mitchell’s Big Night Out, but my very first thought was that it would help me create the perfect hairstyle for my big night in: my girls-only #SassyGlam House Party. (Spoiler: it was every bit as epic as I imagined it, evidenced by a regrettable Vine). Continue reading Sexy Sleek Hairstyle + Rose Gold Styling Tools #PMBigNightOut

(Hair-Challenged) #VOLOOM Volumizing Hair Iron Review [VIDEO]

Wanna know what rocks about being an #iFabboMember? I get fabtastic beauty stuff fo’ free like this bomb hair volumizer called the VOLOOM. It’s not a straightener; it’s not a curling iron; it’s a volumizer. It makes your hair bigger without putting a buncha junk in it. Say what?

Now here’s the catch: I am hair-challenged. Yes, I am a beauty blogger who sucks at hair. I mean bad. The good news about that is, if I can make a styling tool work, anybody can!

That’s why I decided to make this video – to show that if I can be successful with this tool my very first time around, what can you do with it? Continue reading (Hair-Challenged) #VOLOOM Volumizing Hair Iron Review [VIDEO]

CHI Silk Infusion Review

chi silk infusionThough I try to avoid heat styling, I do adore my CHI flat iron, and my friends have been raving to me about Farouk’s hit companion goodie CHI Silk Infusion since I can remember. In fact, this product’s been such a sensation, I’m rather embarrassed to just now be jumping on the bandwagon. Late to the game is better than never showing up at all, right?

Silk Infusion is the perfect name for this leave-in. I only use a tiny amount, but my color-fried locks feel amazingly soft. With my thick hair, I often have problems with leave-ins being too gunky and weighty – but not this baby! Silk Infusion glides in without adding a hint of buildup.

Chi Silk Infusion can go on dry hair, but I also like to style by applying it while my hair’s still wet and blow-drying it in.

The verdict: 10/10! Believe the hype.

CHI Silk Infusion sells for $8.95 in the 2oz. size at Amazon.
