Skincare seems to be advancing by leaps and bounds these days, and nowhere is that more evident than in the new Paula’s Choice skincare line. This line is premium, luxury skincare at its finest, but it’s much more budget-friendly than many other brands I’ve tried.
I received a personal consultation from Paula’s Choice, and based on my answers to some skin-typing questions, they recommended that I use their Resist Advanced Anti-Aging skincare line. (FYI, you can get a free personal skincare consultation too by simply calling 1-800-831-4088.)
While the entire Resist Advanced line is $175 (on sale right now from a regular price of $208), that’s actually pretty reasonable — another popular line I tried recently was nearly $400 for the entire thing.
Plus, you can trial one of my favorite Paula’s Choice products, the 2% BHA Liquid, for only $9 right now through ! BHA is one of those amazing ingredients that adds radiance to multiple skin types, whether you’re dry or oily — plus this stuff has salicylic acid in it for my blemished girls out there. If you’re combination, this is a can’t-miss product.
I’ve been in the beauty game online for a long time, and I remember Paula’s Choice’s site as one of the early heavy-hitters. Their website became famous for its full encyclopedia of advice for every type of skin care concern. Paula Begoun, the founder, has always been all about truth in beauty, skin care, ingredients and proven research.
Accordingly, you can choose from a menu of skin care concerns you’d like to treat on their site and find the most appropriate products for you. They offer a 100% money-back guarantee within 60 days and since they don’t test on animals or include irritating dyes, they’re perfect for the eco-friendly and sensitive-skinned gals.
One of my favorite products was the Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol (I lurrrrrrv retinol!). My daytime moisturizer was more sunscreen-packed, but when I wasn’t going to go outside, I’d apply this supplementally in the daytime as well as night. (You shouldn’t wear this out into the sun though – retinol can react with sunlight.) My skin drinks this stuff up like LiLo at a cocktail party.
I also really loved the serum – it’s rich and provides immediate silkiness to your skin. It offers luxurious moisture that seeps into the skin quickly and makes me feel and look instantly more hydrated, glowing, and youthful. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement since I began using it, and my skin is hungry for it after completing the rest of the regimen.
Here are my thoughts on the other products:
Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment with 5% AHA Review
This product is a genius take on exfoliating for dry-skinned gals out there like me; AHA is a great ingredient for doing just that without scrubbing yourself to beef-carpaccio level. My face looks brighter since I’ve begun using it, and now I won’t go even a day without it.
Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% AHA Review
After starting this line, I’m definitely a believer in the power of AHA. The weekly treatment is basically a stronger version of the daily treatment, and it really seems to reveal my freshest, most radiant looking skin. I’m in for life on this baby.
Resist Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 25 Review
This daily moisturizer was great, and my skin appreciated the sunscreen content since I live in the desert and it needs all the sun protection it can get. I’m not big on mineral sunscreen since, frankly, I hate waiting for it to seep in so my skin’s not all white, but I need to just get over my impatience, suck it up and protect my lil’ face.
Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner Review
Imma let you finish, but this is my favorite toner of all TIME. This toner is thicker and creamier than most toners I’ve used, and I actually loved that quality. My skin didn’t feel dried out, but instead, awakened. I’m a convert.
Resist Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser Review
Some cleansers leave my dry skin feeling parched, but not this creamy wonder. My skin feels nourished but still nice and clean once I’m done washing.
The regime seems like a lot, but it’s really not. You cleanse, tone, treat with the appropriate treatment, apply the serum, and finish with moisturizer. Once you get used to doing it daily, you’ll find as I did that it slides easily into your bathroom routine.
I also got this absolutely amazing Nude Mattes eyeshadow palette, which may be the most useful thing I’ve ever received in my life. I seriously use at least one shade from it every day. There are several that double well as highlighters, eyeliners, and even brow powders. Incredibly versatile – it’s made it into TWO travel bags since I got it, which is saying something.
I got these goodies ’cause I’m a cool thing called a Power Primper, on this kickin’ app called PRIMP. (P.S. Come download it and play beauty-time with me! http://www.prettyinmypocket.com/download)
As a Power Primper, I get to offer you 20% off + free shipping with promo code: PRIMP20. Aren’t ya special?!(Hurry – this code expires July 31st, midnight EST.) Click to activate!
