There’s no one hotter in the world of pop than Charli XCX. Between her “Fancy” hook with Iggy Azalea and little-credited contribution to Icona Pop’s “I Love It”, she’s played a bigger role in current music than her The Fault In Our Stars’ single “Boom Clap” suggests. Charli’s appeal is stylishly irreverent, and her hair and makeup always reflect a little “like I give a @&$!” attitude.
Makeup artist Laramie Glen has done Charli’s makeup. Charli is also the spokesperson for Max Factor’s Wild collection.
“Max Factor approached me and told me about the wild collection and I loved it,” Charli says. “It’s reflective of who I am as an artist and a person and thought it was just the perfect fit.”
Charli XCX’s Makeup
“I love a good mascara,” she gushes. “The Max Factor WILD Mega mascara is what I’m wearing now, it’s really quick to apply and you really don’t have to wear anything else.”
“Along with that, I always have to have some good moisturizer on hand.” (Good advice!) “I’m loving Kiehl’s at the moment, and a liquid eyeliner and some face wipes are my core essentials.”
“The Max Factor Wild Savage Rose eyeshadow is glittery amazingness! Normally, on a day-to-day basis, I just wear a black slick of eyeliner – but onstage I add one of the new shadows and get more of a bold, feline shape.”
“My fashion choices and beauty reflect each other… I’ve always lent towards more grungy, almost gothic clothes. At the moment, I’m really into tartan skirts and shirts, like my take on a schoolgirl / cheerleader look done in a Siouxsie Sioux kind of way.”
(Psst. To my younger [or older] readers – if you don’t know Siouxsie and the Banshees, jump on Spotify and educate yourself. There would be no Charli without Siouxsie.)
I love her bold makeup. I could never pull it off but I think it’s cool! Xo
We love the bold eye-shadow color! Truly a fashion foward look.
That eyeshadow is so bright and pretty, but I would never be brave enough to wear it, and it doesn’t help that I stink at applying eyeshadow. If I go for the smokey look, it ends up as more of a punched-in-the-eye look.
I am with Alisha! I am not brave enough for those bright colors. They are so pretty though!
Those are some fun bright colors!
I love this makeup! So fun!
That green eyeshadow is awesome. I could never pull it off but my daughter would love it. She is ten and always puts on outrageous colors but it actually looks good on her lol.
If only I had the guts to wear those eye-shadows…I am such a natural/nude/pinks color lover- I am just not daring enough! But they look awesome on her 🙂
I never know how to pull off bright eyeshadow. But these looks are seriously fun!
How gorgeous are these looks! I think she may be one of few that can actually pull off looks like this. She looks good! <3
Those are some pretty intense colors! Have you played with them? Do they really stay that pigmented on skin???
Hi Katie – this Max Factor line is highly pigmented, but to get the brightest effect, I suggest using a primer on lids first and then applying wet. You can use the same shadow dry on top to “set” the wet shadow. It makes it really pop!
that is some bold eyeshadow, but it looks awesome on her! very cool 🙂
Love how bright and bold the shadows are!
Bold makeup scares me because I always think it would not suit my face. Looks great on Charli though
She definitely rocks bold shadow colors! I wish I could pull that off.
I love the look of this! I am so bad with bolder makeup.
So cool! I’d love to try some bold makeup like this sometime!
I’ve never tried any Max Factor cosmetics, but the pigmentation looks amazing! Love her bold looks!
These are such bold and confident looks.
Wow the makeup was awesome!!
The bold eyeshadow is so pretty! I wish I could pull something like that off!
wow, that eye makeup is bold! love it, but i don’t think i could rock it like her!
So pretty! I’m not sure I can pull off looks this bold!
She looks great with those bold colours, I think I’m a bit old for colours that bright 🙂
Wow, her makeup is bright! I could never pull off something that bold.
